New Microsoft Updates include Security Fixes
Yesterday (8/9/2011) Microsoft released 13 updates on Patch Tuesday. While the number of updates might seem small this was a large number for during the summer, but only two of these bulletins were critical. There are nine rated important and two rated as moderate. Read more at.... |
**Security Alert** From NC ITS
We are forwarding a **Security Alert** to our NCET group at the request of our NCDPI Security Officer. LEA personnel should report any incidents internally as directed by LEA staff and also to the ITS Enterprise Security and Risk Management Office by calling (919)754-6000. Please forward to your LEA security staff or as appropriate. **Security Alert** From NC ITS To All Agency Security Liaisons and Staff: Another agency is reporting what appears to be targeted social engineering attack via phone calls from Crystal Tech claiming that there is a virus on a computer at the agency. Ultimately the employee is requested to visit a web site by the caller. The callers command of the English language is poor. If you are aware of any similar incidents at your agency, please contact the ESRMO. |
